What you can expect from your first consultation:
Your first consultation will take place in your home where I can observe the dog in his/her environment. This also gives me the opportunity to observe the relationship the dog has with each family member.
You will be asked to complete a 'Client Assessment Form' which will include noting any history about the dog; preventative care schedule; difficult behaviours and goals for dog training.
I will assess the dog's focus and attention.
I teach you how to train your dog! You will be shown the first training technique and given some homework.
Duration: 2 hours
Private One on One Lessons:
"Dogs don't lie" - the progress of your dog is entirely dependent on your involvement and effort.
My philosophy is that dogs and owners benefit the most from socialising and training in a group environment where the emphasis is on enjoying quality time with your dog. Therefore, my aim is to instruct privately to the point where the owner and I feel confident that the dog will be confident in a group setting.
Private classes will generally run for 8 weeks duration depending on the progress of owner and dog.
Duration: 1 hour
Group Classes:
Group classes are of 3-6 individuals. These classes are designed for Intermediate level students.
Some activities run at Group Classes are 'agility for fun'; 'community walk'; 'rally-O'.
Duration: 1 hour
Puppy Fun Time:
Puppy Fun Time is a program specifically designed for young pups between 8 weeks of age and 18 weeks.
Socialising and early learning/bonding with the owner is paramount for the period between 8 weeks and 18 weeks. This is when social manners between other dogs and relationship building with the owner can be established in a controlled environment. Puppies will be given 'off lead' play time and foundational training is established.
It is of paramount importance that young puppies are socialised at this early age - many dogs in pounds and shelters are there because of lack of socialising and early learning. Sadly many are euthanised because of the lack of responsibility on the owner's part... don't let your dog be a statistic!!
Duration: 1 hour
Therapy Dog Training:

There is an accreditation process for which I will assist with training.

Please consider contacting me BEFORE you acquire a puppy/dog for training.
Guest speaker:
Do you belong to a social club (dog club; hobby club, etc)? Do you know of someone in a community or church group that would like an interesting presentation about 'helper dogs'? My presentations are engaging and include a live demonstration - watch my dog take off my shoes and cap; unzip my jacket; open my dryer, take clothes out and shut my dryer! And much more!
Here's what some people said about my presentation:
I always knew about the guide dogs but didn't know about the other ways dogs can help people with disabilities… amazing!!” Lynne from Erskine
“I’m really interested in how a dog can help to improve a child’s reading capacity. Some of my students have learning difficulties and I’m very keen to have one of the dogs help these students” Carol from Kwinana
“I loved the presentation but seeing a real live dog perform tasks like opening and shutting the dryer, getting the clothes out and picking up pegs really astounded me! Then the dog showed his reading skills and that really got me!” Michelle from Claremont
“ I liked it best when Kaelen took the lady’s hat and shoes off. His ears were really soft to touch” Bradley (Year 2) from Karryinyup
